Leadership Teams & Culture
What is a leadership team's operating system?
A leadership team’s operating system is a set of assumptions about how work gets done. These assumptions influence how decisions are made, how authority is exercised, how disagreement is handled, who has influence and what behaviors are rewarded or discouraged. Over time, they become so familiar that they are rarely questioned.
Like any operating system, it shapes how the team functions day to day. It determines how the team responds to pressure, uncertainty and change. It can support effectiveness, or it can quietly constrain it.
OSC helps leadership teams make their operating system visible using the Origins Map™, so that what has been inherited can be examined, and what has been unconscious can become a matter of conscious choice.
